As we prepare to begin the Thriving Soul Based Business Program (sign up at www.enlightenedbiz.com) I’m feeling called to share a sneak peek into what we explore in the first session.
Five Defining Elements of the Soul Based Business Entrepreneur That Should Resonate With You
1. Soul Based Entrepreneurs go beyond a typical business opportunity to look at how to integrate a soul calling into a vocation or viable business model. Our guess is that if you are attracted to this program, odds are you have left behind a traditional career in pursuit of a deeper calling. A deep sense of meaning and legacy building are more important, so living abundantly and expressing your soul calling must become equally important.
You have tapped into a higher potential for both living abundantly and contributing to the betterment of others, therefore both money and meaning are priorities, not just one or the other. When we look at motivational structures of Soul Based Entrepreneurs, typically, they want to align how they run and deliver their business services and products with a deep, internal motivation – a calling, a longing, to both serve and be challenged, to be of incredible contribution to their clients, families, and the world…and to thrive financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially.
2. Soul Based Entrepreneurs desire to integrate their spiritual practices into both how they market and serve in their businesses. They seek impactful ways to integrate Universal principles and spiritual laws, such as principles of Divine Order and the law of attraction into how they build a thriving business. They see themselves as conscious creators and because they view the world metaphysically, they seek to go beyond a typical three dimensional view of the world. Yet sometimes they are unsure how to fully integrate spirituality and business, soul and strategy, intuition, strategic planning and marketing into a viable business model. They intuitively know that aligning their divine purpose and soul path into their business and marketing models will generate deep fulfillment and abundance. They seek a whole brained approach – left and right, create and innovative yet linear and strategic and are seeking to grow and integrate both aspects so they can fully leverage their mind power.
3. Once defined and aligned with the power of their individual way; the coming together of passions, purpose and authentic expressions, become an integral part of what they do, how they do it, and with whom they do it. This is an essential and necessary ingredient in their Fulfillment Formula and they want to be energized, not drained by their vocations. They tend to be more willing to push and challenge themselves in the ways entrepreneurs need to push and challenge themselves and are willing to invest the time, energy and resources into their soul based business pursuit.
4. By nature, they have probably, on some level, resisted their true calling and have a lot of unfettering to do as part of their preparation for truly expanding into their greatness. In spite of their calling and talents, they also often are conflicted about earning a great living while sharing their gifts and are fearful that family, friends and colleagues will think they are crazy to pursue less than traditional vocations. On some level, in our experience, they deal with issues related to unworthiness, and may feel challenged to maintain an enduring prosperity consciousness, and the faith, self- trust and confidence to develop and sustain a thriving business. They also often need to heal their relationship with money and clear any unconscious blocks that impact long-term financial success and increasing the marketplace’s exposure to what they have to offer.
5. Many have lots of non-serving beliefs about marketing and sales that prevent them from engaging in the critical success factors for success. They are powerful visionaries and cultural creatives and have incredible untapped talent, but for many, they struggle with traditional business and marketing models – resonance and being genuine are remarkably important.
They can have some trouble fully living and operating in the world of marketing and sales and it blocks them from having sustained success. They are not always as money and bottom-line driven, nor are they as innately competitive as other types of entrepreneurs. They seek a higher road and are often perplexed as to how to function in a competitive marketplace. Most would work for free if they could. They would do what their soul is calling out to do regardless of the money, yet recognize the need for an energy exchange of money.
They don’t respond to fear based and urgency based marketing strategies. Rather, once they are able to - they seek to utilize resonance and intuition to magnetize their ideal clients yet are not always comfortable in defining who their ideal clients are. Balancing bottom line and strategic planning with resonant marketing strategies can sometimes be challenging.
Soul Based Entrepreneurs also tend to be sensitive, have big hearts, a drive to serve, and often carry a lot of non-serving beliefs about marketing and self promotion, many fearing rejection, failure, success, or being interpreted as less than absolutely, 100% genuine. While they have incredible gifts that they want to share, they don’t necessarily have the strategic planning, business development, product and service development and marketing and sales skills and processes to move their dreams from thought to action. They were stuck in the longing of a dream and paralyzed or at best stunted in the accountable follow through or sound business strategy.
Or…they were hiding out and doing things that were sort of related to their purpose, but couldn’t figure out how to get from current reality to the manifestation of their bigger dreams.
Sound Familiar?
Now that you resonate with the defining elements of a Soul Based Entrepreneur, you are ready to see how this fits into a Conscious Business Model.
You see, not all soul based entrepreneurs have built what we have come to call a Conscious Business; one that integrates you, the individual, with a business model that enables you to be the greatest expression of your unique talents, gifts and passions and be profitable through your design and implementation in all aspects of your business.
The Thriving Soul Based Business Program at www.enlightenedbiz.com will take you step-by-step, through both the internal and external factors that will ultimately contribute to you thriving as a soul based entrepreneur who runs a conscious business.
Ready? Great, let’s get started!
Now that you’ve explored your “why”, let’s review just FOUR of the 10 Critical Success Factors (CSF’s) for Building a Thriving Soul Based Business (begin the formal 13 week program at www.enlightenedbiz.com) – a Conscious Business that contributes on multiple levels. The 10 CSF’s are reviewed in two audios you can access at www.powerofmyway.com/criticalsuccessfactors.html
1. Meaning (CSF #1) – Meaning comes from a sense of purpose and contribution that is actualized through your aligned demonstration. Passions, purpose and authentic expressions when integrated into both your delivery of services, as well as how you market your business and being able to share and see the impact of your work and loves with others brings a deep sense of meaning craved by soul-based business owners.
This meaning, when not actualized, is a source of incredible frustration and pain. We have all suffered in roles that didn’t feed our inherent drive to create meaning in our lives. Business owners who receive little meaning through their business often can not keep up with the demands of running a successful business. They get burnt out, make mistakes, avoid needed confrontation (of self and others) and ultimately lack the fulfillment we all crave.
What meaning do you currently (or desire to) receive in your business?
Is there anything else you are craving?
2. Mindset(CSF #2) – The soul based business owner possess a unique mindset and takes extra care to ensure that their mind (beliefs, perspectives and expectations) is in alignment with what they are co-creating or manifesting in the world. One of the most important of all of the critical success factors, just a few aspects of mindset in the Thriving Soul Based Business model connect into mastering and re-patterning the subconscious mind, identifying non-serving beliefs, developing a prosperity and abundance consciousness, understanding your basic motivational structures, and being responsible for your own shift when needed.
In mindset work, we often use assessments to identify basic motivational structures. For example, looking at your comfort with conflict – do you thrive on conflict or avoid it? Are you a strong in personal accountability, structuring priorities and time and have good follow-through on implementation? Do you need little guidance or outside accountability and are a pro at planning and managing your time and activities as they relate to a desired end result or do you need coaching and structure to keep you on track?
Are you sensitive to rejection, desiring to have consensus to the point of not implementing plans or strategies that may be unfavorable to others? Or, do you have such a strong sense of self and inner confidence that what other people think about you doesn’t matter as much? Are you team oriented and need to build that inherent preference into your business venture or are you fiercely independent, even to a fault?
And, what beliefs about your industry, yourself, your markets, etc. are unconsciously driving your behaviors? So you need to do deeper work at the subconscious level to bring all aspects of your being into alignment?
Do you think selling is sleazy or do you embrace selling and marketing as joyful and fun ways to meet and build relationships with people in your target markets?
All of these nuances impact mindset at both the conscious and unconscious levels and have the power to impact you and your business in profound ways.
How is your mindset supportive of building a thriving business?
Are you aware of some of the beliefs and perspectives that may be
getting in your way? If so, please list them…
e.g. “I’ll never be able to make a good living doing what I love.”
“It is going to be too hard and take too long to get to the level I need to in order to support myself…” “I’m not unique enough…” “People can’t afford my services.”
3. Methods and Measurements (CSF #5)– Coming from a place of great strength and talent, soul based business owners develop their methods, systems and processes for everything from new product development (eBooks, books, cd’s, programs and services), time and priority management, all the way to client and customer service, marketing and sales, employee development, and systems of accountability.
Measuring what Dr. Stephen Covey coined as “what matters most,” and integrating systems that track and enable you to quickly tweak various measures of success extend beyond typical ROI and numeric tracking. Although profitability is a necessity of any sustainable and successful business, there are other measurements that become increasingly important and may not be as easily measurable. Some examples of things that are not as easy to track scientifically (or numerically) might be level of fulfillment, alignment with Divine Plan, and employee or client satisfaction.
Intuitively and objectively, which methods of measurement are working and proving valuable to track?
Where do you know you need to establish some tracking?
4. Markets and Marketing (CSF #7) – although overlapping with Methods and Measurement (CSF #5), because these two areas are absolutely critical and ultimately essential in succeeding in the next CSF, making your mark, they are treated as such by soul based entrepreneurs. I might believe that everyone on the planet needs and deserves to discover and Live the Power of Their Way, but the truth is that only a portion of the entire population will resonate with us, our methods, and our mission. Much of what we come to understand as the ideal demographics and psychographics of our target markets evolve over time and on some level, needs to evolve through our experiences.
One of the mistakes many soul based business owners make is they think they need to have 100% clarity and every single duck in a row before they market their services. One of the challenges, for example, the level of confidence one has in their ability to deliver on their value proposition, can actually cause inaction and paralysis in the area of marketing.
Yet, we intuitively know that confidence only comes through experience and the experiences to serve and deliver your products and services only come through marketing. So, you can’t wait for everything to be perfectly lined up before marketing. You discover the “must haves” and get cooking on them while you market. You add things in phases and chunks and manage the growth and expansion end while evolving and adjusting our marketing strategies.
So, we develop a strength based marketing system and build a funnel that draws in aligned and resonant prospects and weeds out those with whom you will not be a fit! Your specific marketing activities are chosen in resonance and harmony with your core talents and passions and your various offerings.
Over time, you will develop a profile and the indicating behaviors of the people who are in your ideal target market and will receive the greatest contribution from you. Then, going through what we have developed as a strategic target market mapping process, and leveraging in your strengths and talents into how you market will enable you to build the marketing systems that utilize your gifts and reach your target markets.
Have you defined your target markets and how to reach them? If so, briefly describe your target market/s.
Are they responding to you?
If you were to identify the most important areas of improvement would they be in the areas of product and service development, marketing, confidence and credibility, meeting new prospects, offering an opportunity to do business with you, closing the sale, building a responsive database, referrals, upselling, retention, moving them through your funnel, etc.?

Dear Anita, I wanted to write and thank you for the amazing amount of time you put into developing the world around you. Your service is changing lives and mine is a perfect example. This "Soul-Biz" course has been nothing less than miraculous...and we're barely half way! I am ecstatic to see what is next! I have always had an inner-knowing that I had so much more to give, but in 10 years of earnest searching, I could so easily see it in others, and I loved seeing what people were putting their heart into and celebrating their successes right along side them, but I could never come to a recognition of what it was for me. I've taken enough "inner work" courses to fill a library with my reading, and I've taken enough business courses to be running my own business and 10 more along side...so why couldn't I see what it was for me when I could so clearly see what it was for others? Thanks to you and this Soul Biz Group, I have finally broken through years of frustration and stuck-energy and have a dream, a purpose, a vision, and goals...and the best news of all...it wasn't painful, or scary, or hard. As a matter of fact, it was really fun! It is amazing to be part of such a caring group of people who are as determined and grounded in the success of one-another as they are for themselves. I feel as if I have finally found the place I fit and the best news is that the place I fit best is within me. Thank you, thank you, and thank you! With Love & Gratitude, Holly Evans |

I was searching for a way to connect with like-minded people who were working on their passions and needing help and guidance to turn them into the abundantly profitable enterprises that we all desired. I heard Ani's voice on a free teleconference and knew immediately that I would learn from her. The SBB class helped me emotionally, spiritually, and materially by helping me remove energetic blocks to my success, by providing me with meditations to get clear guidance, and by giving me weekly assignments that nudged me to define my offerings, my markets, my unique value, and all kinds of business keys that I was not developing on my own.
In addition to the actual course work, I also made some great contacts with my peers in the course and have maintained that contact to this day. These people "get" what a soul-based business is about and how it differs from other businesses; we are all still here to support and encourage one another and to help each other reach and surpass our goals and visions.
Ani is a true visionary whose combination of corporate experience, process orientation, spiritual depth, healing abilities, energy reading, and ability to produce mass amounts of valuable information daily, makes for one powerhouse of a being. I highly recommend any of Ani's offerings that resonate with you...you will be blessed.
