Living the Power of Your Way - Today!

A few months ago I shared an important statement that I don't want you to overlook. 

"Believe it, See it, Be it, Know it, Feel it and you WILL Create IT." 

This one little sentence holds many keys to manifesting your greatest desires.

And, it is all about alignment.  

When you align, the Universe responds in kind. 

And, the first thing you really need to believe in is yourself-to see yourself as worthy of creating and enjoying the life and relationships of your dreams.

Think of one thing-one thing, that if you were able to BELIEVE IT consistently, without doubt or fear, it would have the potential to completely alter your entire existence, and open you to Live the Power of Your Way. 

You need to believe in more than the possibility... 

More than the probability... 

And, you need to see yourself as worthy of receiving, being loved, respected and trusted.

Inherently, we are all born into perfection. We come into the world in a state of authentic wholeness and unconditional love. We are created with an infusion of knowledge and are encoded with everything we need to REMEMBER and ALIGN with our unique purpose in the world.

But, over time, through our conditioning and past experiences, we move further and further away from what I call our ORIGINAL INTENTION.

Mythology and cultural conditioning become the "truths" from which we operate. After all, we've been brought up in a society that is addicted to conflict and let's face it, is rather unforgiving. And we all find ourselves needing to do some "undoing!"

We are hard on ourselves (and sometimes others) and forget that we are here to be expressions and receivers of unconditional compassion, empathy, love, healing, and gratitude.

As we re-awaken - we open to "unbecoming" that which we are not so we can BE who we were born to be.

There is a powerful progression back into the Original Intention and Divine Power - the places and spaces we directly connect with our Source. It is here that we access the unique information that empowers us to live a life of passion, purpose and authentic expression.

How Many Winters?

This morning, as I sat in meditation, asking for Spirit to guide me in expressing the unexpressable, it all came out in a poem that I hope you will receive in the fun way I did!

See, beginning Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at www.powerofourway.com, we begin a new program and I don’t always find it easy to express the essence and value of something that is truly a unique experience. I recommend reading this “poem” aloud to get the cadence of the verse and I send love in every word! The poem is called How Many Winters?

How Many Winters?

How many winters will I walk the same path? Wanting a change but linked to the past?

Patterns and stories I relive again, noticing the desire to fight – or obsess, or pretend…

That everything’s alright, or that I don’t really care. Putting a smile on my face, denying the bear.

Who sleeps in the den of my mind, waiting to awaken, to a life unchanged, because my prayers were never taken?

How many moons will it take for me to see, that the common denominator isn’t really me?

That it’s all just my thinking, and the illusions I carry. They say I should be angry and that the world is so scary.

That my past is unfortunate, and the future uncertain, and that it is difficult, to transcend past burdens?

How many seasons will feel more like an endurance of disappointments and setbacks; of false hopes and broken promises?

How many moments will I waste on old thinking, unable to see the abundance that is waiting?

How many prayers will take me to my knees, begging and pleading, yet unable to receive?

How long will it take, for me to reawaken, remember, and rejoice…in the knowing, that life is not happening to me… Rather it is my choice?

That I can transform my conditioning and re-write my past? Into a story of love and receive blessings that will last?

Maybe it’s simple – much easier than I think. Maybe I just need to change my beliefs. Align a different expectation, cultivate my faith, and develop authentic relationships, ones that change my fate?

A relationship with Source that has no boundaries and no gatekeepers.  A dialogue with the Divine that is more intimate and deeper?

Conversations with myself that are gentle and loving. An appreciation of others, with no need for pushing and shoving?

Compassion that comes easily, forgiveness that is freeing. A love so big that gratitude is no longer fleeting?

What if I understood that surrendering to my authentic nature was stepping into my power? How would I evolve, what seeds would then flower?

What if I walked in an embodiment of faith; found Unity within, and trusted my fate?

Divine order and timing, what if it is now, and the when is here? What will I celebrate? What will I no longer fear?

Who will I be when I’m no longer afraid, or guilty, or resentful, or feeling my bed’s already made?

What will be possible when my doubt is released? When I live my purpose and know I am free…to do and be what I signed up for? And love the who that is ME?

What if this journey into the power of my way, woke me up to a brand new day?

Imagine my life taking a whole new direction? One that doesn’t require constant inspection? Rather, awareness and grateful reflection?

Could 31 days really take me to this place, and, while I’m at it, improve the whole human race?

Will healing “my stuff” really serve the whole world? Would resolving my own inner conflicts, make others feel whole?

Is it truly possible to feel completion with my past? To foster the changes I desire, in a way that will last?

I’m ready to commit, in a whole different way. To join kindred souls for the Power of Our Way.

I’ll not be alone on this unique personal journey. And the energy I put in will enhance all of our learnings.

I breath into this awareness and clarity of thought. I release my denial that I not ought…

To think this big and hope this completely. This thought of limitation, I now am releasing.

I am here and the time is now, not tomorrow or next year. I’m choosing to embody faith and no longer partner with fear.

So I say yes to the invitation that comes to me today. To explore and live in the Power of My Way.

Don’t Pray for World Peace? A Contemplation on Human Evolution

Several months ago, I heard something that required contemplation. One of my Lakota teachers said, “Don’t pray for world peace because right now, given our current state of consciousness, world peace is only possible if the entire human race was annihilated.”

The more I reflected upon this radical advice, the more I understood what he was saying. Of course, to my Lakota elders, world peace extends beyond peace amongst cultures and religions. Peace also includes bringing back greater harmony to the earth and all of its inhabitants.  Peace is not merely the absence of war, rather, peace is a state of consciousness that if honest, most of us struggle experiencing in a consistent and embodied way within ourselves, let alone towards others.

Peace is not simply how things look on the outside. True peace is internal to the mind and spirit of each individual. Because much of the disharmony we experience is sourced in the consciousness of our own minds, and the beliefs and perspectives that determine whether we judge something (or someone) as “right” or “wrong,” “good” or “bad,” “holy” or “unholy,” I began to ask some deeper questions.

The first question I began to ask was, “Why, in spite of the progress made in human consciousness, do poverty, conflict and war still exist?”

I received two responses.

1. We have not cultivated enough compassion within ourselves.

2. We are entrenched in a story of “not enough.”

For the sake of not writing a book here, I will go deeper into the second point today and reserve the first for later discussion.

The Not Enough Story

We live in an abundant universe with more than enough to feed, care, and bring vitality and prosperity to all peoples on the planet. Supply is not the problem. Distribution, fear, greed, (which comes from not enoughness), judgment, and unworthiness are the main issues contributing to the experience – or perception – of lack that so many of us are experiencing.

As a human race, we have not yet reached the level of mass consciousness that says, without condition, that all human life is valuable (all life, even those you don’t like or agree with) and worth honoring, even at our own sacrifice.

We detach from the unseen and the seemingly impersonal – meaning, we detach from those people and issues who we do not see as personally impacting our own lives.  This can become an issue in some new age spiritualist circles who encourage complete detachment from watching the news, or entertaining anything remotely negative.

Personally, I want to know what and who to pray for. I want to understand what “is alive in me” that is contributing to the challenges faced by my own brothers, sisters and cousins around the globe. I want to understand how I can better serve – sometimes by coming out of my own judgment, ignorance, misinformation, or illusionary separation from what exists for so many others.

Playing God

As much as I believe we carry within us an aspect of Divinity, I also believe that our image of God has been tainted by lesser evolved human teachings that have defined God according to the human proclivity to judge, punish, and fear others. Our religious teachings have been polluted by ideas that God favors only portions of its creations – and only if they look or think a certain way. For many, judgment of others is ordained by their religious understandings – and therefore it is believed to be their duty. We dismiss the fact that we have all been created from the same Source – one who loves all equally and completely. Religion was born to create unity – not destruction and division.

We resist the fact that our sacred texts, the bible included, were written during a time when we were not nearly as conscious and open to loving and caring for people who are different from we are.  Much of the conflict in the world remains religiously justified. Political agendas attempt to legislate morality – a morality that has yet to fully embody compassion, love and forgiveness.  And, the economy is largely influenced by our current morality that is in need of a deep sense of brotherhood that opens us to a shared responsibility to care for one another, absent of conditions.

Simply put, because of one’s beliefs, the color of their skin, their religion, nationality, or their sexual and other lifestyle preferences, we make determinations of their worthiness to receive equal rights – including the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Worthiness and Compassion

Thoughts of unworthiness (conscious or unconscious) greatly impact what we welcome (or don’t) into our lives – and what we have come to accept. Feeling worthy is also connected to the flow of ease and grace we experience, how supported we feel, and, most importantly, what we are willing to ask for and receive.

Until we reach a critical mass of people who embody compassion for self and others—and who commit to taking 100% responsibility for our own judgments and prejudices—no matter how big or seemingly trivial, we will not see true harmony and thriving amongst all of our people.

Until we move beyond a consciousness of lack and open to the reality of unlimited abundance, the greed and fighting that comes from believing in “not enough” will continue its territorial warring at many levels – our minds and hearts included.

Conduct an Experiment

Become an observer of your own thoughts for one full day. Each time judgment, criticism, prejudice, or thoughts of “not enough” come into your awareness, affirm the TRUTH of sameness and abundance that is currently escaping your reality.

Become conscious of where you withhold from fear or insecurity. Maybe you withhold love, or the spontaneous forgiveness that comes with deep and Divine compassion. Maybe you withhold generosity of your time, money or talents; because you have temporarily forgotten that you are here to be a vehicle for the words and works of the Divine Source that has created us all. Maybe you are withholding your self from the growth and healing that is necessary (and was agreed upon) for your own personal evolution.

Or, maybe you are making decisions—or backing out of previously made commitments that are in your highest good—because you are feeling lack in your life and are afraid about security, money or approval from others.

Become conscious of the thoughts that are merely the ego’s way of distracting you from the truth of your soul. Observe the running thoughts (of judgment, doubt, fear, envy, resentment, unworthiness, and guilt) that distract you from traveling into a rich inner world. In the intimacy of communion with ourselves and our Source, we find the heavenly landscape hidden behind the illusions that prevent us from being truly present to a greater reality of perfection, beauty and abundance in our lives.

When we begin to observe the vast inconsistencies and irrelevancies of our own thoughts, we become aptly aware of where to begin our work in cultivating compassion and peace within ourselves.

To quiet the voice of doubt is to clear room for the grace of a steady faith.

And, compassion, faith, and inner peace are truly the pathways to co-creating peace and abundance at the collective level.

It begins first within ourselves and then is easily extended to others. This is the true and only path to peace and an abundant existence for all. So, pray for inner peace and begin cultivating that which will contribute to harmony within yourself, your relationships and the circles in which you travel. Know, without a doubt, that this is your part in the collective need for healing that will foster harmony at the global level.

A Life-Changing Experience I Wish to Share

I just returned home after a life-changing adventure in the Desert Mountains of Utah.

I am not the same person I was when I left.

There were many times when I didn't think I could take the physical discomfort for one more minute.

There were moments when I faced the edges of my faith.

And then, I remembered to do one simple thing.

Ask my Source for help and healing and RECEIVE it.

And, not just once. Dozens of times over a 6 day period, I looked up to the sky and asked for the energy and relief I needed to do what I went there to do.

Over and over again, I felt the "woosh" of healing energy come into my body and spirit. I went from pain to complete comfort in just a few seconds. I watched it happen with others too, including my husband.

Even with less than 3 hours of sleep a night, no running water, electricity, or my usual comforts, I experienced a level of energy, connection, and grace that is accessible in the harshest of physical and mental conditions.

But this was not the most remarkable experience during my 6 days in the mountains. I also witnessed something that was absolutely mind boggling about what can happen to someone when they unconsciously block receiving. It was a little scary to watch, but later, it gave me an idea.

The second night, I pondered on the idea that had come to me earlier in the day. I received a profound insight (and direct experience) of what happens when the personality (some might call it ego) has taken charge over the inherent willingness, capacity, and wisdom of the soul.

For the next 4 nights, I experimented with my new insight. I had to go on faith because I couldn't check in with anyone for another 4 days to see if it was working.

It did. It worked. Thank God!

The awareness I received is so profound that I can't even begin to write about it. I will tell you it has a lot to do with the beliefs you carry and the level to which you are easily able to RECEIVE.

God Doesn't Respond to Problems?

Over the last week, my husband and I have received several gifts that are supporting us in traveling to Utah for what is known as one of the most powerful spiritual ceremonies on the planet. I believe each gift has been a direct result of us demonstrating faith - as opposed to seeing ourselves with unresolvable problems.

Today, I embody an awareness that my mind determines the totality of my experiences. I have reference points for miracles that create a foundation of faith that is both strong and comforting.

 

What used to be seen as “problems” became opportunities to challenge my own perceptions. I found, as was recently reinforced by both Joel Osteen and Michael Beckwith, that God doesn’t solve problems, rather God responds to demonstrations of faith.

 

Putting feet to your prayers is not always easy, especially when the basics of our survival are in question. We look at the status of our bank accounts and make statements such as “I’m flat broke,” or affirm, over and over again, “I can’t afford this, I can’t afford that.”

 

We say we don’t have time or our doubt supersedes any modicum of faith that, if cultivated, would show us an entirely different reality. We negotiate a trial period for the changes that would bring us great transformation if only we were actually committed and granted patience to Divine Order and Timing.

 

We say, “OK, I’ll give this a try.” and don’t seem to notice that our Ego is taunting us with doubt and keys to the back door so we can quickly revert back to business as usual when things don’t work in the way – and in the timing of our human desires.

Right now, where are you lacking in faith? Where are you not in demonstration of your highest unfoldings and desires? What is asking to be healed and transcended in your life?
