Fears are rarely just about the "here and now," rather, they are a byproduct of a collection of limiting beliefs and perspectives that are largely unconscious to us. We tend to work only at the conscious level (which by the way is hugely influenced by subconscious belief patterns) and often "resort" to prayer and spiritual solutions only when feeling desperate.
Overcoming your aversions, "limitations," fears, patterns of self-sabotage, or other themes that keep appearing in your life (relationships, money, health, weight, chronic pain) may, in fact, be less about gaining control of your conscious thoughts and behaviors and more about working in the subconscious and spiritual realms - the seat of the creative force that exists within all of us.

The potent and very real power of the mind has been reinforced in both the scientific and spiritual communities since the beginning of times. There are many historical references regarding the underpinnings of modern day law of attraction principles. Your ability to manifest your desires and co-create your reality have been taught in the sacred teachings of religion, spirituality, quantum physics, science and philosophy. Innumerable present-day books, teachings and practices present the same basic message in varying forms and on various subjects.
Acceptance and utilization of this message has produced miracles and can provide solutions to challenges and problems in virtually every area of your life (relationships, health, education, personal development, business, etc...). The knowledge is available to everyone; the skills are easily acquired with commitment and practice and yet, this tremendous power is seldom recognized or used.
Instead, we succumb to the insecurity or fear that finds a voice in our doubts and ideas of limitation. We deny the evidence of our power to partner ego, spirit and mind to transcend dis-ease of all types. We say "no" to our intuition and urgings and seek the familiar and commonly accepted.
So here we are, standing on the edges of our lives wanting to be more, experience more, and playing bigger in the larger sense of our own evolutions. Most of our reasons and excuses for not stepping into the core of ourselves and living more authentically feel fully justified. One of the most prominent in the land of ridiculous excuses is "I'm too busy, I don't have the time." I hear this all the time from folks who want me to record 10 or 20 minute hypnosis or meditation audios. Or, they want me to "take care of" ten different maladies in one session. Still seeking the quick fix, magic bullet, socially acceptable modes of healing and transformation, to me, this investment is one that always grows in its dividends. Daily investments of time and energy towards cultivating our spiritual lives and tending to the mind and soul, are just as important as eating, hydrating, and resting.
Recently, I chuckled at a comment made by my friend and mastermind partner, Christine Kloser, who shared that when we say we are "too busy," we are really saying "I'm so important." In other words, in today's hectic world, the length of one's "to do list" and the intensity of one's calendar has become our gauge of self-importance. We feel guilty (or distracted) when we are doing things that don't fall into a category of productivity. Personally, I have come to learn that daily meditation practice and self-hypnosis is WHY I am productive, how I heal, where I seek guidance, and my number one method for opening my intuition and receiving inspired ideas and effortless writing and creating.
I write songs in less than a minute, articles in an hour, and books in a matter of days (editing is another story!). For God's sake, I healed from Lupus, cured insomnia and can move pain out of my body in minutes. There is a Unity saying that says "Don't go within and go without. Lay off applying pressure to move into action the next time you are feeling stressed or worried. Instead, meditate, try a guided meditation or hypnosis (great for those of us who have trouble shifting out of our heads and mind chatter), and begin to build into your life a way of ritual and ceremony that honors a wiser part of you that knows exactly what it needs.
Right now, give thought to something that is causing stress, conflict or drama. Now, write down all of the fears, beliefs, doubts, and non-serving thoughts that are fueling your current experience. All conflict that exists in the world is sourced in one thing and one thing only - belief. It is always how we are thinking about something that causes us pain. Judgment and resentment are probably the most toxic and damaging of all. And, you possess an inherent ability to tap into the power of your mind, spirit and the powers of an unlimited Universe (unbound by physical laws) to move beyond anything.
Our victim stories are ready to be transformed. The time to come out of hiding is here. Fear, guilt and worry don't make you a good person, a realistic person, or smarter than the rest of us. Rather, it just makes you a good person who is carrying a lot of pain and unecessary weight. Release the past so you can be present to the miracles of today. Be grateful for everything because it is and has always been in service to our evolution and the higher forms of service that are asking to be expressed through each of us.
