Dear Community,
I must say, even I have a bit of a challenge when it comes to acceptance. I tend to stick with things (and people) a little too long sometimes. Yet, we go deeper, and deeper, uncovering the layers, one at a time.
Acceptance does not mean giving up. It does not mean giving in. It does, however, offer an opportunity to examine where we have control and influence in our lives and where we don’t.
Say this experiment for example.
When we began, I sent information and left a few messages for a lot people – people whom are connected to peace building, and for whom I have a great deal of respect. Yet, I have received no responses from several of these folks.
I must admit, it was one of those situations where I could feel myself feeling hurt. Not because of the lack of response and interest, but because of what I began to make up in my head as to “why” they did not respond.
To tell you the truth, that is so often what we do. We come to all sorts of conclusions or assumptions about the reasons or motives behind people’s behaviors. We often internalize the hurt or disappointment, and then so often, it materializes in the external world as anger, or resentment.
We worry, we take things personally, and then, if we are fortunate, something or someone helps us come back to center – to the reality of the situation.
The Truth…the wisdom…the grace.
The reality is that there really are a lot of people who are not that interested in focusing on “building peace.” They have their own worries, their own priorities, and their own tastes.
So many of us are just trying to survive, it is difficult to shift into consciousness raising activities…I get that.
The mere thought of religious and cultural equality sends many people into a tailspin.
I have certainly been accused of being too values driven, too “woo woo.” A tree hugging, mushy, idealist.
And…who cares? I have seen what “The Power of Our Way” has done for people’s lives, their outlook, and their relationships.
And, I know, beyond a doubt what Awakening to One’s Divine Purpose does for the whole world.
Even some of the “hate” mail I have received is more of a reflection of what is going on in the other person’s heart.
If I chose to take in every potentially hurtful statement or action and allow it to permeate my consciousness, or my choices, it wouldn't do any of us any favors!
So, I trust in God, the Universe, and this CommUNITY to help me stay on track and remain connected to the bigger picture.
And I envision myself as Teflon…”just let it slide right off, Anita, let it slide…”
This is the message of Day 10, Acceptance, in the “Power of Our Way.”
By practicing acceptance, we enter into freedom.
We free our energy and hearts to focus on things we do and can influence. We let go, joyfully, of the need to fight for things that are beyond our control.
And when we do so, and continue in this practice, on some level the very thing we may have spent a lot of negative energy on, just simply becomes irrelevant.
So, on Day 10, a quick reminder (especially for people who may have joined the experiment late and are not currently receiving the daily “short notes” that are delivered to your email box) of the Freeing Power of Acceptance. It is a tough one to swallow…
And pleeeassse check your junk mail box! The short notes are designed to help you stay focused on the message and offer you one or two “CONSCIOUS ACTIONS” you can engage in each and every day.
To move from thought to action is incredibly powerful. So, from this point forward, I will post the short notes on the blog to serve as reminders. Please note a few responses from our experimenters follow the short notes from days 9 and 10.
I look forward to hearing from more of you. Share your experiences. Connect in - it only adds to the energy of our collective intention!
Until later…BE PEACE, KNOW PEACE, SEE PEACE, Anita
Day 10: ACCEPTANCE Today's Affirmation from the Power of Our Way, A Path to a Collective Consciousness, by Anita Pathik Law: I practice acceptance, and free myself from the need to fight for things beyond my direct control or influence. Conscious Action: Make a commitment to not fight, argue, or disagree with anyone today. Instead, just listen, and even if you disagree, find at least one thing that you agree with and focus on where you find common ground.
Comments on Day 10, from Gerardo…
“You can just imagine the timing on this conscious action! Just what I need right on the time! It made my day already! Thank you very much!”
Gerardo
Day 9: RESPONSIBILITY
Today's Affirmation from the Power of Our Way, A Path to a Collective Consciousness, by Anita Pathik Law: I contribute to the happiness and peace in others by being an example of personal responsibility and accountability.
Conscious Action: Follow-through on the action you identified in today's Morning Thought Invoker that asked, "What can you do today to combat your fears?"
Do it and celebrate your victory!

A comment on Day 9...
As today's peace experiment is about responsibility, here's what I love to share with you on this quality.
Respond to my ability is what I call responsibility.
To tap into my limitless power, to allow my greatness to flower.
To make the world a better place, a divine realm for the human race.
To perceive a new reality,..our everlasting divinity.
To turn tears into joy, life a story to enjoy.
To bring light to the darkness, my healing abilities to harness.
To simply love now & forever, to lift souls higher and higher.
Sending You Infinite Blessings,
